Its two manufacturing facilities at Bazpur and Khatima in the state of Uttarakhand in the foothills of the Himalayas have a combined capacity of:
- PET film - 55,000 metric tons
- BOPP film - 35,000 metric tones
- Metallized film – 32,500 metric tons
- Offline Coating - 383 million square meters
- PET Resin - 77,600 metric tons
- Holographic Films - 5,040 metric tons
- Transfer Metallized Paper - 152 million square meters

The Indian operations have a collective workforce of around 923 employees in its manufacturing, sales & corporate operations. Many of the employees in Khatima & Bazpur are housed with their families in the green and spacious residential townships adjoining each facility. The Saraf Public School, set up by Polyplex adjoining the Khatima plant facility in 1992, provides quality education to children of employees as well as those from local communities.
The Journey So Far
Polyplex commenced operation from its first PET film line in Khatima in 1988. A second line was added in 1996 taking the installed capacity to 20,000 tons per annum of PET film. The facility was also backward integrated to include the production of PET resin.
In 2002, PCL commissioned an in-house metallizer at Khatima with a capacity of 4,800 tons per annum followed by 3 more metallizers at Bazpur.
In 2007, a state-of-the-art coating line with an annual capacity of 160 million sq.meters for the production of Siliconised Polyester Release Liners was commissioned at Khatima.
In 2009, a new world-class, high capacity manufacturing facility was set up at Bazpur near Khatima with a state-of-the-art 8.70 meter wide PET film line, and its own PET resin plant.
In 2009, PCL also diversified into the production of BOPP film products by setting up a line with a capacity of 35,000 metric tons per annum at the Bazpur facility.
In order to enhance the product portfolio, the Company has commissioned two offline coaters in FY 2014-15 and FY 2018-19 respectively.
The Company has installed a laminating machine in India to facilitate Transfer Metallized Paper business and has also started six holography lines and a new metallizer for expanding the product basket. An additional holography line has been shifted from Turkey to India.
